Why ? reasons and motivations

Sometimes people said that I work too much, that I am too technological addict, that I blog too often... And often I wasn't able to really explain why ... I had ideas and arguments but not enough cohesion to create a coherent argumentation... And tonight I can finally explain "why" through 4 videos ... MUST SEE...







These first 2 videos explain a little "why" I chose the engineering and computer science in my old engineer school EPF in Sceaux (France, Near Paris). They also explain the underlying education that my professors have tried to make me go (with more or less ability) ... Computer science is not just taping dozen of code lines and algorithms... It is also creations, thoughts, research, discoveries ... These code lines of are the same components as bricks or concrete which can build roads or buildings that surround us ... Simply roads that I create are not physical but digital. Nevertheless applications and users are very real!

Close your eyes for a moment and think about videos you have just seen and give you a few minutes of reflection ...

Remember us ... The heart of the ECM is the C CONTENT. The content that we create, that we think, that we analyse, that we regroup, that we evaluate, that we share ...
How we intend to capitalize on it? How can we expect to store it? How can we expect to find it? How we intend to publish it?

The answer comes from M Management: It seeks to identify best practices, understand the documentation flow, to organize and manage unstructured content ... For that you need expert ... But not only ... We need everyone's ... And especially the end-user! He's going to use and create his new way of information management.

And this is where the E Enterprise. The company creates more than a third of global content (text documents, scanned or digital ...). So it is necessary for its development of owning a system to perform basic operations: search, create, analyze, manage, unite, break, share, store, versioning content and information ...

And finally why Open Source? Because we need to rethink many things ... There is a need to exchange, share, collaborate ... We can no longer remain alone ... In this era of globalization, Internet and new information and communication technologies, we need to rethink the information and content (digital or not).

This is just a vision of ECM Open Source ....

We must create a road to a n ECM Open Source World ....

Indeed Enterprise and content management can not be summed up whith some videos on youtube. But we can not deny that things are moving ... and it is not a simple change or fashion effect !

And finally it's my job actually ...

The aim is to create, integrate, share information from the company through Open Source ECM solutions such as Nuxeo and Alfresco. It is to help clients to define ideas and practices and finally help to rethink... Next I have to create, set and define the most appropriate solution to its need.

Indeed we must rethink many things ... The road is still (very) long ...

So don't hesitate to make the information (r) evolution....
